The Caterer’s Digitising Customer Service webinar, sponsored by Oracle, will be held on Wednesday 12 May. It will address how digital innovations can take the pressure off your teams and increase efficiency across the whole business.

An expert panel will explore how operators have had to be agile, flexible and reactive to the latest challenges and trends in the past 12 months, and how they might blend the technology employed with the human element of hospitality in a post-pandemic world.

Speaker Leon Smallbone, IT project manager at the Newt, said: “Digitising customer service during the pandemic has become crucial to adapt to the new way of conducting Covid-safe business practices and enabling business continuity.

“For instance, we have adopted contactless payments throughout all business units, as well as click and collect services. And we launched our e-commerce business at the beginning of the pandemic, proving to be one of our greatest success stories, allowing us to take our fresh produce to customers’ homes while we were closed.”

He will be joined by a panel including Danilo Mangano, SevenRooms general manager, Europe, and Matthew Dunn, principal solution engineer at Oracle.

Sophia Talbot, senior director, solution engineering at Oracle, added: “After such a long lockdown we are seeing hoteliers across the board not only getting ready for the big reopening, but also thinking about what happens next and how we as an industry can keep up by digitising our technology platforms.

"Bracing for the expected boom after a really tough last year, we are hoping hoteliers can take advantage of some of the technology changes to prepare themselves for what we all hope is a customer base who are hungry for drinks with friends, travel, pampering and meeting up with loved ones.”

Join Smallbone and Talbot alongside other expert panellists on 12 May to discover why it is vital to offer customers choices as we emerge from lockdown and begin to enjoy hospitality once again.

What you will learn from the webinar:

  • How the cloud and mobile technologies can transform your business to be more efficient and streamlined.
  • How to create new revenue streams for a new world – from office spaces for WFH employees who need to shake up their day-to-day, to innovative outdoor dining concepts.
  • How digital innovations can take some of the pressure off your staff.
  • And most importantly, how to use technology to power your business and improve customer experience without removing the human touch that makes hospitality so special.
