The chef opened the Michelin-starred restaurant in 2018 as a joint venture with Hedonism Wines.
Ollie Dabbous has announced he will be stepping down from his role as chef patron of Hide in London’s Mayfair in early 2025.
The chef launched Hide as a multi-floor joint venture with Hedonism Wines in London’s Piccadilly in April 2018 following the closure of his casual dining restaurant Barnyard and Dabbous, a 2013 Newcomer Catey award winner, the previous year.
He led Hide to its first Michelin star in just five months with the support of then head chef Luke Selby, who is now executive chef at Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons.
Dabbous’ departure will result in current group executive chef Josh Angus being named chef director at Hide.
Angus has worked with Dabbous at both his eponymous restaurant and at Hide, where he has been based ever since the restaurant launched seven years ago.
Dabbous said: “It has been an amazing experience helping set up and run a restaurant of such scale and with so much attention to detail. When we started it was a building site, now it feels like I am leaving a well-loved and established restaurant. Wishing the team continued success in the future; it is in great hands. I’ll enjoy some time with my family and friends before focusing on the next adventure.”
Tatiana Fokina, chief executive of Hedonism Group, added: “We are very grateful for everything that Ollie has contributed towards Hide’s success and wish him the best of luck for his future ventures. We are incredibly fortunate to have such a strong kitchen team, who have been together for many years, and we are confident that Hide will continue to thrive under Josh’s leadership.”
Hedonsim Wines was established in 2012 as a fine wine and spirits boutique.
