Northcote hotel put up for sale

Luxury Lancashire hotel Northcote has been put up for sale.

The Ribble Valley manor house, which is home to a Michelin-starred restaurant run by chef Lisa Goodwin-Allen, is being marketed by Savills.

No guide price has been given, but the listing said the business had a turnover in excess of £6.5m in 2023.

Northcote last changed hands in 2019 when it was acquired by Britannia Hospitality, the owners and operators of the Stafford Collection group of hotels and restaurants.

Managing director Craig Bancroft told Lancs Live the hotel was “looking for a new long-term investor who wants to take the work the Stafford started to the next level”.

Earlier this year the hotel secured planning permission to build a new fine dining restaurant onsite, which will be run by Goodwin-Allen.

Bancroft told The Caterer the restaurant plans were the start of a “new chapter” for the business and would allow Goodwin-Allen to reach her full potential.

The four-red-AA-star hotel has 26 bedrooms, and its main restaurant also holds four AA rosettes.

It has been the host of the annual Obsession food festival, which sees some of the world’s top chefs cook at the hotel over 17 days, for 23 years.
