New Paddington hotel to offer two food outlets

The Pilgrm, the new 73-bedroom hotel in Paddington, London, has unveiled details of its two food and drink offerings.

Due to open in the autumn on Norfolk Square, the property will feature the Café on the ground floor and the 30-seat lounge on the first floor.

The hotel is being launched by Jason Catifeoglou, former partner and general manager of the Zetter hotel; Andreas Thrasyvoulou, founder of MyHotels; and Steph Thrasyvoulou.

The Café will serve a bespoke coffee blend, tea, pastries, doughnuts and bread throughout the day, while the Lounge will offer an eclectic selection of international dishes.

Featuring a mix of reclaimed and restored furniture, an open kitchen and bar, the Lounge will serve British charcuterie from Cannon & Cannon of Borough Market, a dahl of the day and small plates such as cauliflower falafel with harissa labneh, and ramen noodles with crispy pork belly and toasted seaweed.

The breakfast menu will aim to feature dishes that are a departure from the usual early morning offer, with the likes of kimchi rice with tea poached egg; sweet potato toast with guacamole and spiced crushed seeds; and Welsh rarebit on sourdough with angel on horseback.

There will also be a late night menu offering ultimate mushroom and Dolcelatte toastie, mug of soup with crusty bread and warm milk and cookies, and a selction of pre-mixed cocktails.

Instead of minibars and room service, guests will be able to serve themselves to tea, coffee, hot chocolate and snacks from pantries on each floor of the hotel.

Catifeoglou said: "The Pilgrm's neighbourhood café and lounge will express a sense of adventure through both our ingredients and influences. Balancing the familiar with the novel, this autumn we'll bring some of our favourite dishes and cocktails to Norfolk Square."
