Tom Gaskell has been appointed general manager of the 122-bedroom Hotel Indigo Cardiff, which will open its doors this summer.
Previously general manager of the Mercure Bristol Grand hotel, Gaskell has almost 17 years' experience of the hospitality industry and has been tasked with overseeing the launch of the new boutique hotel, as well as ensuring its ongoing success.
The Indigo will feature a rooftop Steakhouse Bar & Grill by chef Marco Pierre White.
Gaskell said: "The new hotel is shaping up nicely and will be a vibrant new offering for the capital. Not only will it boost Cardiff's already burgeoning tourism industry, but the fantastic rooftop restaurant will strengthen the city's claim as one of the country's top food destinations outside of London. I can't wait to get started."
The hotel will be managed by independent hotel management company Redefine|BDL Hotels (RBH).
RBH chief operating officer John Stuart added: "Tom is an exceptionally experienced hotelier with a fantastic background working for some of the industry's most recognised brands. I'm pleased to welcome him to the helm of what promises to be a fabulous new hotel."
