The Knightsbridge Metro bistro within the Levin Hotel in London has appointed a new head chef.
Danny MacGechan (pictured below) has joined the restaurant, which caters to locals and shoppers in the area, fro working as senior sous chef at British restaurant and cocktail bar, Drake & Morgan Kings Cross, having previously worked as head chef of L'Escargot as well as having held roles at Hawksmoor and at Marco Pierre White's the Canteen.
Working from an open kitchen that serves both the restaurant and its outdoor terrace, MacGechan has created a menu of small sharing plates, offering a personal take on some of Britain's favourite dishes.
Typical dishes on the menu include: warm English asparagus, poached hen's egg (£7.50); daily market fish, spiced butter (£9); Dingley Dell pork pluma, rhubarb and ginger (£9).
The Levin is sister property to the adjacent Capital hotel. Both hotels were sold by the Levin family in January 2017 to the US-based Warwick Hotels and Resorts.
