Peri-Peri chicken restaurant group Nando’s has delivered “a robust performance” with an 8.4% increase in revenue to £1.05b.
The uptick was driven mostly by organic growth in key markets and increased sales from franchise acquisitions.
Accounts for the 52-week period ending 24 February 2019 saw gross profit of £213.4m, an increase from the previous year’s £204.5m.
Operating profit was £41.9m a slight decrease from the previous year’s £42.7m and there was a loss before tax of £25.2m which was attributed to the investment in people and an expanding international footprint.
The firm has been expanding its business through opening new fast-casual dining restaurants and the distribution of branded sauces.
