More than 850 hotel rooms could open in Dundee coinciding with the city's V&A Museum of Design opening next year.
A planning application was recently submitted to Dundee City Council for property investment company Structured House Group to develop a 132-bedroom hotel, a 115-bedroom hotel and restaurant for £20m on Barrack Street (pictured).
Meanwhile, as part of the £1b Dundee Waterfront regeneration, planning permission has been granted for a 150-bedroom hotel at the ‘site six' development, while construction on a 149-bedroom Premier Inn has already begun.
Assurance Developments has also gained planning permission to turn an office block on Whitehall Crescent at Greenmarket into 35 serviced apartments.
Plans are already in the pipeline for the launch of a 120-bedroom Sleeperz hotel above the railway station and the dual development of a 102-bedroom Hotel Indigo and 85-bedroom Staybridge Suites.
