Monica Pool has been appointed chief marketing officer of KFC UK & Ireland and will be starting the role in early autumn.
Pool was most recently marketing director at Taco Bell UK & Europe, having joined the business in 2020. There, she was responsible for growing the brand, as well as consolidating the franchisee model.
She has also worked at KFC previously, starting at KFC South Africa in 2009. In 2012, she became part of KFC UK & Ireland’s marketing team and was promoted to marketing director.
Pool takes over from Jenny Packwood, KFC’s chief corporate affairs and sustainability officer, who held the role of interim chief marketing officer.
Commenting on her appointment, Pool said: “I’m honoured to be rejoining KFC UK & Ireland to partner with our incredible teams, franchisees and restaurant leaders. It’s an exciting time as we continue our journey to evolve the brand experience to deliver industry-leading results, all while making a positive impact on the communities we serve.
Meghan Farren, general manager at KFC UK & Ireland, added: “I am excited to partner with her as we lead KFC through its next chapter, and I have no doubt that she will drive positive change across the business on her return.”
Colonel Harland Sanders first opened KFC in Utah in 1952. It has since expanded to over 900 restaurants across the UK and Ireland.
