Restaurateur Mitch Tonks has submitted for planning permission to open his latest Rockfish restaurant in Salcombe, Devon.
The new 100-cover seafood restaurant and bar overlooking the estuary would open in spring 2022, employ 30-35 people locally and be a million-pound investment for the business.
Tonks said: “Salcombe is one of the most beautiful places in the country and we’ll be hoping to open in spring next year and look forward to welcoming people on foot, by water and car! The restaurant will be open all year round and so we hope adds something really positive for all the local people living in and around the town as well as to visitors.”
Should planning permission be granted, it would be the ninth restaurant to add to Tonks’ portfolio, with Rockfish restaurants in Poole, Torquay, Exeter, Brixham, Plymouth, Weymouth and Dartmouth, as well as the Seahorse restaurant in Dartmouth.
