Mitch Tonks’ seafood restaurant group Rockfish has appointed head of communications Laura Cowan to its executive board.
Cowan, who takes the job title director of marketing and communications, has worked with Tonks for more than 20 years at both Rockfish and at his earlier Fishworks chain. Prior to that she worked at Zurich as well as founding her own communications company, RedHeadlines, centering on the food and drinks industry.
Tonks said: “As part of our growth plans, I am delighted to let you know that we have appointed Laura Cowan to the board as director of marketing and communications. Laura has worked with me for 20 years and has been largely responsible for building our relationship with the press and more recently developing our marketing strategy and overseeing its execution which to date has been very successful.”
Rockfish was founded by chef and restaurateur Tonks with business partner Mat Prowse in 2010. The first site opened was Dartmouth and there are now eight coastal sites around the South-West.
