A look at the latest restaurants, hotels, pubs and bars to open their doors.
Michael Caines may be best known for his Michelin-starred Lympstone Manor hotel and restaurant in Devon, but his latest opening in the South West is a more casual affair.
Situated on Exmouth beach, Mickey’s Beach Bar & Restaurant offers views of the Devon coastline and Exe estuary, with a menu focused on locally sourced produce and seafood landed at ports in Devon and Cornwall.
The upstairs restaurant serves more refined dishes and features a retractable glass terrace with outdoor seating, while a ground-floor bar will host weekend DJs and serve Mickeys’ take on hot dogs, burgers, fish and chips and pizza, alongside local Devon beers and ciders.
Caines has also teamed up with pastry chef Sylvain Peltier to open Café Patisserie Glacerie next door. The pair have worked together for 15 years and have created a menu of French pastries, ice-creams, coffee, milkshakes, hot pies and Cornish pasties.
