Michelin reveals new Bib Gourmands for 2025 guide

The award recognises restaurants serving quality food at a lower price point

Thirty-six restaurants have been awarded Bib Gourmands in the Michelin Guide Great Britain and Ireland 2025.

Although usually announced around a week ahead the new stars, the Bibs were revealed at the main ceremony in Glasgow on Monday night.

Filipino restaurant Donia in Soho and Claude and Lucy Bosi’s Josephine Bouchon in Fulham were among the restaurants to receive the award for “great culinary experiences at a moderate price”.

There were five Bibs awarded to Scottish restaurants, including Margo and GaGa in Glasgow and Skua in Edinburgh, which is run by 2024 Acorn Award winner Tomás Gormley.

England is home to the majority of the new Bibs with 27 awards, including independent restaurants Other in Bristol and Briar in Bruton.

Wales was awarded one new Bib for the Heathcock pub in Cardiff, while chef Michael Deanes’ mrDeanes in Belfast was the only new Bib for Northern Ireland.

There were two new Bibs in the Republic of Ireland, including Turkish restaurant Baba’de in Baltimore and daróg wine bar in Galway.

Named after Michelin’s Bibendum mascot, the Bib award was launched in 1997 to recognise restaurants outside the guide’s traditional fine dining price bracket.

In 2019, this was specified as venues serving three courses for £30 or under but Michelin now says there is “no set formula” to win a Bib. Instead, restaurants must offer “good quality, good value cooking”.
