He has taken over from David Morgan-Hewitt, who has moved into the role of chairman.
Voigt joined the five-red-AA-star hotel, which has been owned by the Goring family since 1910, as general manager in 2020.
In a post on LinkedIn, Voigt wrote: “It is a privilege to have been appointed managing director at the Goring.
“I am looking forward to leading this wonderful hotel into the future with it’s amazing team, many of whom have been here for many years.”
German-born Voigt previously spent five years at London’s L’oscar hotel where he oversaw a £40m transformation of the former Baptist church headquarters into a 39-room hotel.
Last month the Goring relaunched its Michelin-starred Dining Room restaurant with a new design that saw the installation of a new kitchen for the first time in its 100-year history.
