Current Great British Menu contestant Michael Reid has helped create a competition to encourage aspiring young chefs.
The M Restaurants executive chef has teamed up with Bookatable by Michelin to give young chefs the opportunity to host a pop up restaurant at M Victoria Street.
Aspiring chefs under 25 years old are invited to submit a four-course menu that will be sold at £40. The best 50 entrants will be invited to M Victoria to cook a dish and present their menu to judges including Reid, Phil Howard, Richard Bainbridge and M Restaurant founder Martin Williams.
Williams said: "Post Brexit it's now the time to nurture the young talent within the UK and encourage the next generation of young people in hospitality. These awards not only recognise the excellence within the kitchens across the UK, but will give 10 young chefs their first chance to have their name above the door at M Victoria St for a night each."
The judges will whittle the entrants down to 10 finalists, who will be mentored by both Michael Reid and Martin Williams before taking over M Victoria for the Bookatable M Takeover between 25 July and 5 August 2017.
