Michael Carr's Restaurant 92 in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, has announced that it will close its doors until further notice.
In a statement posted to social media the restaurant said: "Sadly, today Michael and I have the unenviable task of telling our staff, customers and suppliers that we must cease trading with immediate effect."
The restaurant had been open in the city for three years and less than a month ago The Observer‘s restaurant critic Jay Rayner said Carr took "admirable risks" in his review.
Within its statement the restaurant thanked all those who had supported it, adding that it would be in touch with clients and suppliers in the coming days to provide more details.
The restaurant was listed in both the Michelin Guide and Good Food Guide.
Carr had previously worked for the Gordon Ramsay Group and Alyn Williams at the Westbury.
