A luxury boutique hotel is planned for Marylebone, London, on the former site of burger brand Meat Liquor and surrounding buildings on Welbeck Street.
A planning application has been submitted to Westminster City Council for the demolition of the existing buildings and their redevelopment as a 206-bedroom, nine-storey hotel, with a ground floor restaurant and bar of approximately 150 covers. The business, which will be known at the Marylebone Lane hotel, will also feature a spa, swimming pool, café and club lounge.
The first permanent Meat Liquor restaurant, which earlier today the burger brand announced it would be closing , is one of several businesses which currently occupy the site.
Plans for the hotel were submitted by developer DP9 on behalf of Marylebone Lane LP. The property will be operated by Shiva Hotels.
Shiva Hotels owns 10 hotels, mostly in London, including the Hilton Heathrow Terminal 5. Six are unbranded hotels under development, including sites on Poland Street in Soho, Millennium Bridge House, Vandon House Buckingham Gate, Lincoln Plaza at Canary Wharf and Morley House Holborn Viaduct.
