Chef-restaurateur Stevie Parle heads line-up for Market Halls' flagship West End venue

Chef restaurateur Stevie Parle is among the diverse line-up of traders set to move into Market Halls' new flagship venue on London’s Oxford Street.

Parle will open his pasta concept Pastaio alongside 10 other new restaurants, announced today, in what was the West End BHS store.

Other traders include Chinese dim-sum and roast meat specialist BaoziInn, Roti King's Malaysian Tamil offshoot Gopal's Corner and vegan restaurant Cookdaily.

Smokehouse and barbecue restaurant HotBox, Fanny's Kebabs and Mexican taco trader Super Tacos will also feature alongside Flank, which will be creating a new rotisserie chicken concept for Market Hall West End called Good Birds.

Other new names in the Market Hall portfolio include Angelo Sato's Japanese Yatai, pizza restaurant Paradise Slice, and Jian Bing specialist Pleasant Lady.

At 35,000 sq ft, Market Hall West End will be the UK’s largest food hall when it opens in November. There will be seating for 900, 11 kitchens, four bars and a rooftop terrace open throughout the year.

There will also be two event spaces, a coffee cart, a dessert cart, and an internet TV studio built in collaboration with Twisted, the food and drink brand of digital media business Jungle Creations.

Market Hall West End is the fourth venue from the group, after Market Hall Fulham and London Victoria, as well as the Hall in Essex's intu Lakeside.

Simon Anderson, chief creative officer at Market Halls, said: “Since May last year we’ve had two million customers through our doors and what we have learned from that has been invaluable in developing our flagship West End site.

“Our line-up is based upon best sellers and customer favourites. We have been able to challenge some of our chefs to expand their offerings and have given them larger kitchens to show off their craft.”
