Market Halls returns to expansion with London Paddington site

London-based food hall operator Market Halls is set to open its fourth site in Paddington Square.

The 11,000 sq ft space will feature eight food traders, two bars, an outdoor terrace and seating for 500 customers once it opens in the final quarter of this year in the new 1.35 acre piazza.

The Gees Court-backed company had reported a 155% increase in revenue to £12m in the 12 months to July 2023.

Market Halls launched in 2018 and grew to three London sites in Victoria, Fulham and Oxford Street prior to the pandemic.

The Victoria site was the first to reopen and in 2021 the group used a Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) to restructure the business, which involved the closure of its Fulham site.

Market Halls currently has sites in Victoria, Oxford Street and Canary Wharf, which it opened in 2022.

Andy Lewis-Pratt, chief executive of Market Halls, said: “Securing our fourth venue in such an iconic London location is hugely exciting for us and we are very excited to be working closely with the team at Paddington Square as part of such an exciting development. Our team is working hard behind the scenes to make this the best Market Halls yet!”

The group also revealed plans to open its first regional site later this year, listing target cities such as Birmingham, Brighton, Bristol, Liverpool, Leeds, Cardiff, Manchester, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

It added it also has a pipeline of two to three sites that are due to open throughout the year.
