Mark Platt has been appointed general manager of the Hand Picked Hotels-owned 131-bedroom St Pierre Park hotel in Guernsey.
An hotelier with more than 30 years' experience working with hotel brands including InterContinental Hotels Group, AccorHotels and Hilton, he joins the hotel from his most recent position as general manager of the Majestic in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.
Platt said: "I am looking forward to building upon the success of our newly relaunched health club and spa, as well as continuing a comprehensive programme of bedroom upgrades and enhancements to our food and beverage offering."
He replaces interim general manager Shaun McGachan, who is moving on within the group and whose new position is yet to be announced.
Douglas Waddell, Hand Picked Hotels' operations director, said: "As well as supporting further growth in the leisure and wellness market, Mark is focused on expanding the local and residential conference, meetings and private events segment of the business and I'm pleased to welcome him on board."
St Pierre Park has an AA Rosette restaurant, the Pavilion, overseen by head chef Richard Bloomfield, and is one of three Channel Island properties in the Hand Picked Hotels' 20-strong portfolio.
Hand Picked Hotels, created by former lawyer turned hotelier Julia Hands, acquired the four-star St Pierre Park resort hotel from SandpiperCI in 2013 for an undisclosed sum as part of a strategy to extend its presence in the Channel Islands. It also owns L'Horizon Beach hotel in St Brelade's Bay, Jersey, and the Grand Jersey hotel in St Helier. The group acquired the Stanbrook Abbey hotel in Worcester from Clarenco earlier this year.
