Mark Jarvis has taken on the role of culinary director at the Signet Collection boutique hotel group.
He joined the business last September as executive chef at the Mitre hotel in Hampton Court in East Molesey, Surrey, and now also oversees the Retreat at Elcot Park in Newbury and the Barnsdale in Oakham, Rutland.
Jarvis's role has included developing the menus at 1665, the riverside brasserie at the Mitre, as well as the hotel’s Boathouse bar.
The chef trained under Raymond Blanc at Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons in Great Milton, Oxfordshire, and went on to cook at Texture and the Bingham hotel, both in London.
He won the Newcomer Award at the 2017 Cateys for his flagship restaurant Anglo in London's Farringdon, and later launched well-regarded London restaurants Stem and Neo Bistro, both of which have since closed.
Jarvis said: “Joining the Signet Collection as culinary director is an exciting opportunity and a perfect progression into hotel gastronomy. We've got an ambitious team here, across all three hotels, that really want to lead the way in the hotel space and be creative about what we offer guests through our food and drink, experiences and service.
“I’m always striving to do more and I'm looking forward to taking all three hotels into a new area of exceptional food and drink".
The Signet Collection was created by Hector Ross, the former chief operating officer of property and leisure operator Longshot.
The group opened the Mitre as its first hotel in September 2020.
