Marco Frik has been appointed general manager of the four red-AA-star Holbeck Ghyll country house hotel in Windermere in the Lake District.
Frik (pictured) has joined the 30-bedroom property from his role as general manager of the Macdonald Old England hotel, also in Windermere.
He previously worked across various InterContinental Hotels Group properties for 11 years, including the Crowne Plaza Leeds, Holiday Inn London Sutton and InterContinental Malta. He also held general manager positions with Le Meridien in Dubai, Egypt, India and the UK.
Joe Nichols left the hotel in May following two years as general manager, and is now working for estate agency Ashdown Jones as a business development manager.
The hotel was sold by David and Patricia Nicholson for an undisclosed multi-million pound sum to businessman Stephen Leahy seven years ago.
