Manhattan Loft Gardens hotel to open spring 2019

The Stratford hotel within the new Manhattan Loft Gardens skyscraper in east London is set to open in spring 2019.

Overlooking the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the hotel will offer both short and long-term stay options, with the design inspired by 1950s New York. Room rates will start at £199.

Owned by Harry Handelsman's Manhattan Loft Corporation, behind the restored St Pancras Renaissance hotel and Chiltern Firehouse restaurant in London, and designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, behind the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, the double-cantilevered skyscraper will have three sky gardens and two restaurants.

Occupying the first six stories of the building with 145 guestrooms and suites, the Stratford hotel's interiors will be overseen by Space Copenhagen. The triple-height lobby will feature a nine-metre high fireplace.

Allegra restaurant will open on the seventh floor, overseen by former Chiltern Firehouse head chef Patrick Powell. The Stratford Brasserie will open on the ground floor under the direction of Ben Harrington, previously head chef at Soho House Group's 76 Dean Street members' club.

Events will also take place in the Alex Gorlin-designed Penthouse on the 41st floor. Meanwhile, the Mezzanine will be a lounge bar during the day and a late night club.

The Stratford will also provide services for the Lofts at Manhattan Loft Gardens.
