Lympstone Manor in Devon has been awarded a five-AA-star rating, a year after its official opening.
The luxury hotel created by chef Michael Caines MBE sits in 28 acres of Devon countryside and opened in March 2017 following the renovation of a Grade II-listed Georgian mansion.
Caines achieved a Michelin star within six months of opening and has now followed it with the five star status.
He said: "We are so proud to have received a five-star-AA rating at Lympstone Manor. Since opening the hotel in April last year the team has continued to work hard to offer every guest a fantastic experience so it's great to see our offering reflected by this prestigious accolade. This is a huge achievement for us and we're honoured to now hold five AA stars."
Garry Baldwin, senior hotel and restaurant inspector for AA commented: "Following a series of inspections to measure consistency and quality the AA have awarded five stars to Lympstone Manor. Lympstone is a very special place, with excellent levels of service from the close nit professional team, each bringing with them a wealth of experience from some of the UK's finest hotels. Our inspectors were impressed with the physical quality of the property, a true hands-on vision from Michael, excellent attention to detail and quality noted throughout. This official star grading is only the beginning of the Lympstone journey, with exciting plans ahead to make this an even greater destination."
The hotel and restaurant marked its one-year anniversary by planting approximately 18,000 vines to produce classic Champagne-method sparkling wines.
