Luxury Family Hotels announces new glamping suites and head chef Dean Westcar

Luxury Family Hotels is launching its first glamping experience at its Woolley Grange hotel in Wiltshire on 24 May, with plans for further glamping suites at its other hotels.

The eight glamping spaces are located in the hotel grounds in a meadow parallel to the property and are being launched in collaboration with the Pop-Up Hotel. Each suite has a large master bedroom and a second bedroom with two single beds, both of which with access to a private bathroom with a flushing toilet and shower.

Each suite will have a spacious living area, a lockable sliding door and a range of power points. Electric heaters will be provided as well as fresh flowers, a fruit bowl, picnic rugs, torches and a selection of lifestyle magazines.

The suites also have undercover private terraces with outdoor seating and pre-ordered continental breakfast hampers will be delivered each morning, including muffins, overnight oats, fruit and granola pots, as well as flasks of tea and coffee. Guests can also pre-book cooked breakfast in the hotel’s restaurant.

Simon Maguire, managing director of Luxury Family Hotels, said: “We wanted to create a unique guest experience that gave new and returning guests an opportunity to immerse themselves in a stunning location without compromising on the quality of one of our hotel stays. We are delighted that the Pop-Up Hotel has brought our vision of the perfect family glamping experience to life and we can’t wait to welcome our first guests.”

The hotel is also launching an alfresco but undercover pop-up café and bar called the Hideout, open to residents of both the hotel and the glamping suites, with a separate area exclusively for glamping guests to relax in a snug area, as well as to enjoy food and drink without the need for table reservations.

Menus have been designed by the hotel’s new head chef, Dean Westcar, who has joined the hotel from Lucknam Park in Wiltshire, where he was head chef at its Michelin-starred Restaurant Hywel Jones. The pop-up will offer pizzas and salads at lunchtime, cream tea and a dinner menu, including barbecue, paella and curries.

A stay in one of the glamping suites allows guests access to all hotel facilities, including 90 minutes of complimentary childcare each day and full access to indoor and outdoor swimming pools, the spa and treatment rooms and hotel babysitting service.

The suites are currently planned to be in place until the end of September with rates starting from £375 for one night on a B&B basis (midweek, term-time), rising to £575 per night on a B&B basis for peak summer dates. Prices are based on four or five people sharing a suite, with a two-night minimum stay during peak periods.
