The owner of the Wellesley Knightsbridge is to open a 41-bedroom boutique hotel within the former estate of the Duke of Marlborough in Iver, Buckinghamshire.
Set to open in summer 2018, the Langley hotel will operate under Marriott's Luxury Collection brand. The 36-bedroom Wellesley hotel, which overlooks Hyde Park, itself joined the brand - once part of the Starwood Hotels & Resorts portfolio - in December 2016.
Both hotels are owned by City and Country Hotels, a subsidiary of Arab Investments.
Dennis Irvine Studio, which created the design of the Wellesley and two Wellesley yachts, will be responsible for the look of the hotel, which has been undergoing a multi-million-pound renovation over the past four years.
The hotel will feature a 25,000 square-feet spa with eight treatment rooms and a womenâs only thermal area; a fitness centre, with a Cryotherapy Centre, headed by personal trainer Matt Roberts; a signature restaurant; bar; and gardens originally landscaped by Capability Brown, which includes a Lebanon cedar tree listed by English Heritage.
Khalid Affara, company director of City and Country Hotels, said the restoration of the building is focused on regenerating what is a âmagnificent historic buildingâ to its former glory.
âThe whole estate is steeped in such rich history and heritage we are excited to soon launch a product that successfully celebrates the Langleyâs past whilst offering contemporary luxury and design alongside outstanding dining. The sheer size and specification of the Langley spa help to make the estate an outstanding destination.â
Mitzi Gaskins, global brand leader, the Luxury Collection, said the Langley will âshowcases the propertyâs unique history and heritageâ, as well as highlighting the diversity of the Luxury Collection portfolio, which includes city hotels, country palaces and island resorts.
The Langley will become the Luxury Collectionâs fifth hotel in the UK, alongside the Wellesley Knightsbridge, Westbury and Park Tower hotels in London, and Trump Turnberry in Ayrshire. Worldwide, the brand has more than 100 hotels.
