The London Hilton on Park Lane is to undergo an “extensive” renovation of its first floor in 2022 to launch a “new era” for the hotel.
This will include the first refurbishment of its Grand Ballroom since it was opened by Conrad Hilton in 1963.
The Wellington Ballroom and Harvest Suite, Executive Lounge, and communal areas between them will all be given a fresher and more contemporary design. This will include walnut, bronze and travertine tones, bespoke lighting features and bold carpet designs intended to capture the original spirit of the hotel.
Work will begin in January 2022 and is scheduled to be completed in April 2022, when a celebration event will be held in the Grand Ballroom.
Michael Shepherd, general manager at the London Hilton on Park Lane, said: “Although we can look back on the amazing wealth of history, we stand ever tall but never still.
"We look forward to creating more innovative, show-stopping events and conferences at the new-look first floor of the London Hilton on Park Lane for many years to come.”
The hotel, which overlooks Hyde Park, was the first Hilton-branded property to open in the UK in 1963. It features 453 guest rooms, 16 meeting rooms and is home to the Galvin brothers’ Galvin at Windows restaurant on the 28th floor.
