Liz Cottam’s Leeds fine dining restaurant Home is relocating next month to a bigger site at Brewery Wharf after ‘outgrowing’ its current location near Kirkgate Market.
Taking over the former Oracle bar site, the new space will have a terrace overlooking the River Aire and a wine room. The move is hoped to not only give the restaurant greater visibility and presence in the city, but to also bring in a range of new customers, both corporate and residential.
Cottam said: “We’ve had some amazing times on Kirkgate, but now we’ve outgrown the restaurant and think it’s time to continue our new journey in a space that really suits who we are now and what we do. We want to be at the heart of new developments in Leeds, and this is the perfect space to expand our offer, welcome in new guests and keep doing what we do best.”
Richard Baker, head of leasing at Rushbond, which owns the development, described it as a “huge coup for the community”.
2016 MasterChef semi-finalist Cottam opened Home in 2017 with business partner Mark Owens, former head chef at the Michelin-starred the Box Tree in Ilkley. This was followed by the Owl gastropub in Kirkgate market in November 2019 and Cora in Boston Spa this summer, a bake house, dining room and wine cellar.
