The Inn Collection has increased its portfolio to 16 properties with the acquisition of the 88-bedroom Lindum hotel in the seaside town of Lytham St Annes, Lancashire.
Overlooking St Annes Pier and two miles south of Blackpool, the hotel is the north of England pub group’s fifth acquisition this year and the first to be located in Lancashire.
Earlier this year the Alchemy-backed company snapped up the Black Swan in Helmsley, North Yorkshire, and three outlets in Cumbria: the Pheasant in Bassenthwaite, the Swan at Grasmere and the Churchill Inn, Ambleside.
The Lindum hotel has been owned by Lindum Yates, headed by Dan Yates who also owns HY Hotels, since 2017, when it was sold by the Rowley family, who had who had operated the business for more than 50 years.
Yates said: “We have been very lucky to have worked in such a stunning seaside location and have thoroughly enjoyed operating the hotel and watching it grow over the years. We are very pleased to be passing the business over to such an experienced operator who can take the hotel to the next level and benefit tourism within the local area.”
Sean Donkin, managing director of the Inn Collection Group, said: “The Lindum hotel has in buckets and spades everything we look for in an Inn Collection Group venue. Vibrant, multifaceted destinations, a wow factor element and somewhere we would like to eat, drink, sleep and explore from with our own families and friends.
“Despite the challenges Covid-19 continues to throw at the sector, 2020 continues to be a year of growth for our group. With every new opening comes job creation, training and economic development across the supply chain giving a much-needed boost within the communities we operate during these challenging times.”
The Lindum hotel will continue to trade in its current format, securing the jobs of all employees at the site.
Property agent Christie + Co marketed the hotel.
