Chef-owner Jake Finn is joined by the former head chef and general manager of the two Michelin-starred Kitchen Table.
Liam Sweeney, the former head chef of Kitchen Table, has been named head chef at Cinder, a pair of Mediterranean restaurants in north London.
Sweeney worked in hotel kitchens and completed an apprenticeship under Andrew Burton before joining the Michelin-starred Star in Harome, Auberge du Lac in Hertfordshire, Aria in Naples and Fera, formerly in London’s Claridge’s.
He was previously head chef at the two Michelin-starred Kitchen Table in London’s Bloomsbury and head chef at the Michelin-starred Alchemilla in Nottingham.
He said: “My passion is in creating ultra-seasonal tasting menus, focusing on fresh, high-quality ingredients from the best producers. I’m excited to bring my experience and love for food to work alongside Jake and bring you the best the season has to offer.”
Sweeney joins Jake Finn, chef-owner of Cinder, which operates two restaurants in Belsize Village and St John’s Wood, serving a selection of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes cooked over charcoal.
In a job posting shared last week, the Cinder team revealed it is looking to an “exciting new phase of development and growth”.
Cinder has also recruited Jim Conway as general manager, who hails from The Petersham in London’s Covent and Kitchen Table, where he met Sweeney.
Finn, who was previously at restaurants such as Coya, La Petite Maison and the Ritz, opened the first Cinder in Belsize Village in 2021 before expanding into St John’s Wood in 2022.
