Walnut House at the Duncombe Arms
The two-AA-rosette Duncombe Arms pub in Ellastone on the Staffordshire and Derbyshire border has opened Walnut House, in a 10-bedroom property adjacent to the pub.
Each room is different, but all feature striking wallpapers and luxurious fabrics, fluted armchairs, bespoke writing desks and artworks from the Crane Kalman Gallery. Bathrooms have colourful tiled floors, waterfall showers and Bamford toiletries.
In the pub itself, a regularly changing menu is rooted in classic British cooking, showcasing sausages and wild meat from local family butcher Paul Shum as well as homemade bread.
The pub works with Bibendum and specialist suppliers, offering 98 wines, 28 gins, 30 whiskeys and beers, including the pub's own Duncombe Ale.

Island Social Club
Island Social Club has launched a 12-month residency at Curio Cabal café in London's Haggerston, showcasing contemporary British Caribbean culture. The food offering focuses on roti with curries and street foods such as curried goat, while the in-house rum bar will offer Caribbean rums, homemade ginger beer, a 28-day aged rum punch and cocktails.

Kingshouse hotel
The Kingshouse hotel in Glencoe has reopened following a £12m redevelopment. The property, which can trace its history back to the 17th century, has been expanded to offer 57 bedrooms plus a 32-bed bunkhouse. The Climbers bar has been renamed the Way Inn, and a new restaurant has been added.

The Nadler Covent Garden
The Nadler Covent Garden has opened in London, the fifth boutique property in the Nadler Hotels group. The hotel is located within a restored Edwardian building and spread over six floors. Bedrooms, ranging from standard double through to deluxe, feature furniture designed and made in west London and Paul Smith Anglepoise lamps. The rooms have a mini kitchen and some have balconies or terraces.

The Edgbaston
Independent cocktail bar and boutique hotel the Edgbaston in Birmingham has opened 14 new bedrooms following a multimillion-pound investment. The new rooms retain much of the building's original architecture and feature freestanding rolltop baths, Elemis toiletries and Nespresso machines.

Yopo has opened at the Mandrake hotel in London's Fitzrovia, replacing the hotel's Serge et le Phoque restaurant and bar. Yopo, named after a plant found in the jungles of Venezuela, offers European-South American fusion cooking and an open raw kitchen.
