The Black Bull
The Black Bull in Sedbergh, Cumbria, has opened, owned by James Ratcliffe and Nina Matsunaga, who also own the nearby Three Hares café and bakery. The 17th-century coaching inn has been renovated using local materials and crafts to create a hotel, restaurant and bar.
Each room is named after a local fell and overlooks the Fells and the Yorkshire Dales, with rain showers and Japanese tubs, as well as Howgill Fells wool blankets, bespoke toiletries by the Sedbergh Soap Company and carpets by Wools of Cumbria.
The restaurant features wooden panels created from the innâs reclaimed floors, with Japanese influences such as suspended plants.
