Bankside hotel
Bankside hotel is being developed as part of the One Blackfriars development and is close to the Tate Modern and Borough Market. It features the 80-cover Art Yard Bar & Kitchen, alfresco dining space, bar, lounge, gym and function space for 120 guests.
The six-storey glass building, designed by architect Ian Simpson of Simpson, Haugh and Partners, features a mid-20th century aesthetic from film set producer turned interiors architect Dayna Lee.
The hotel features the Art Yard Bar & Kitchen, an all-day dining space overseen by the former head chef of 45 Jermyn Street, Lee Streeton. The menu focuses on seasonal, British produce and makes use of a wood-fired oven, offering light breakfasts, hearty British classics and sharing cuts of oven-roasted meats. As suggested by the name, it will also feature artworks from local and UK artists.
