Hong Kong-based Chanco Investment Group has opened its first Page-branded hotel in the UK, Page8 in London’s St Martin’s Place, just off Trafalgar Square.
Operated by the company’s hospitality arm, Butterfly Hospitality Group, the London property is the second hotel in the Page boutique brand. The first, Page148, opened with 197 bedrooms in Hong Kong in January 2019.
The five-floor Page8 was developed at a cost of £23.1m within a building that was previously home to the Post Office and Redwood Publishing. Chanco, headed by Henry Chan, bought the property in 2014 for £65m.
The hotel features a café in the lobby and alfresco bar. The hotel’s restaurant partner, which will take over 618 sq m of the top floor of the hotel, will be announced later this month.

Will Ellner and his team have opened a second Bancone in London’s Soho, serving the brand’s signature pasta dishes. The restaurant has several ‘banconi’ (counters) for 90 diners, and a basement complete with cocktail bar and private dining.

Chef Dan Wilson has teamed up with restaurateur and investor Matt Wells to bring his neighbourhood restaurant concept Dandy to London’s Bermondsey. Dinner is served Wednesday to Sunday and an all-day offering is available at weekends.
