It has been confirmed head chef of Gordon Ramsay's Pétrus Larry Jayasekara has left the restaurant.
National Chef of the Year 2016 Jayasekara joined the Michelin-starred, 60-cover restaurant in London's Knightsbridge initially as senior sous chef in 2015 working under Neil Snowball and was soon promoted to head chef. It is not known if a replacement has yet been appointed.
Jayasekara came to the UK in 2002 from his native Sri Lanka and his roles over the last 16 years include chef de partie at the Waterside Inn in Bray, Berkshire; senior sous chef at Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons in Great Milton, Oxfordshire; and senior sous chef at Marcus Wareing at the Berkeley in London.
He joined Pétrus from his role as executive head chef at the Manor in Weston-on-the-Green, Oxfordshire.
Speaking to The Caterer three years ago, he said: "I'd like to develop myself within the business. It has a really good team behind it that keeps pushing it more towards quality rather than quantity. Looking at the future, this company is more stable for me to achieve the things that I want to achieve."
