The Langley, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Langley Park, Buckinghamshire, has announced the appointment of Gordon Riddell as general manager.
Riddell joins The Langley from Wyck Hill House Hotel and Spa, where he was appointed General Manager in 2009, and succeeds David Harris who left The Langley in February.
Riddell brings with him an impressive record of “experienced leadership and commitment to quality” with a career that includes general manager roles in leading country and golf hotels such as Amberley Castle Hotel, Welcombe Hotel and Golf Course, Bedford Lodge Hotel and Donnington Valley Hotel & Golf Course.
The Langley, a 41-bedroom, Grade II*-listed mansion is owned by City & Country Hotels who also own The Wellesley Knightsbridge, Ten Manchester Street and Wyck Hill House. The hotel was launched in June 2019 as the Langley following a six-year, multimillion-pound renovation that reflects its spectacular natural setting and showcases the grandeur of its distinctive British heritage.
Built between 1756 and 1760, The Langley features a “seasonally-driven” restaurant, bar and subterranean spa, including a women's-only thermal area, and a state-of-the-art fitness centre with a cryotherapy centre. The gardens were originally landscaped by iconic landscape architect Capability Brown and include a Lebanon cedar tree that is listed by English Heritage.
