Kricket announces its return to Brixton with new permanent site

Indian restaurant Kricket has announced that it will return to Brixton opening a permanent site in May.

Chef Will Bowlby and Rik Campbell launched Kricket in June 2015 inside one of Pop Brixton's shipping containers as a 20-cover restaurant serving Indian small plates and cocktails. The group's first permanent site opened in January 2017 in London's Soho and the pair closed the Pop Brixton venue last year to focus on it.

Speaking of their return south of the river, co-founders Campbell and Bowlby said: "It has always been our intention to return to the neighbourhood where our journey first began and we couldn't be more excited.

"Brixton has remained such a huge part of Kricket's identity and we've been searching for a permanent site ever since we moved out of Pop Brixton. The Brixton community were our very first customers and embraced our approach to Indian cooking right from the start. We look forward to serving them our evolved menu of Indian street food and drinks in our new and permanent home."

Earlier this year Kricket announced it would open another permanent site at the Television Centre development in west London.

The restaurant will join venues including Homeslice, Bluebird and Patty & Bun, as well as a new Soho House hotel, within the refubished former home of the BBC.
