Kitty Fisher's trio to launch second site

The trio behind London restaurant Kitty Fisher's is to open a second site in Covent Garden.

Friends Tom Mullion, Tim Steel and Oliver Milburn launched Kitty Fisher's in Mayfair (pictured) to critical acclaim in January 2015. They are now set to open Cora Pearl, a 60-cover site on London's Henrietta Street, in spring 2018.

The opening will be the latest in a string of high-profile operators moving to the London landmark, including Petersham Nurseries and SushiSamba, which is expected to launch a site in Covent Garden next year.

Like Kitty Fisher's, Cora Pearl is named after a prominent courtesan, though this time one that came to prominence in the 19th century. Menu details are not yet available but it is likely to be dominated by the same relaxed, fuss-free food cooked over a wood fire that Kitty Fisher's is known for.

The deal for the site was done by property firm Davis Coffer Lyons. Senior surveyor Lottie Newman said: "This restaurant, named after one of the 19th century's most garlanded and celebrated courtesans, will be the second restaurant from the team behind Kitty Fisher's in Mayfair after a search spanning over two years for the right site that suited their style. Cora Pearl will join our other lettings, including Ollie Dabbous' Henrietta, Frenchie, Balthazar, and the Oystermen on the Covent Garden estate."
