The four-AA-starred K West hotel and spa in London's Shepherd's Bush has appointed Jessen Valaydon as executive chef.
In his first executive chef role, Mauritius-born Valaydon will oversee K West's Studio Kitchen and Studio Bar alongside the Glam Rock Afternoon Tea menu, event dining and in-room dining at the 219-bedroom hotel.
Valaydon's cooking style is heavily influenced by French cuisine. He aims to introduce brasserie-style dining to Studio Kitchen.
His first role was at the Beach Cumber Group and Sand Resorts in Mauritius. He has since worked in the kitchens on the Queen Mary II cruise ship and at Hilton hotels at Paris Orly International Airport, London Gatwick, and in Brighton and and Metropole, London.
Following six years with Hilton, Valaydon took on the role of head chef at Crowne Plaza London - Battersea.
