The luxurious country house hotel is looking to add to its team after a refurbishment and expansion.
Located in Eye in the heart of rural Suffolk, yet only 90 minutes from central London, the Oaksmere is a breath of fresh air for the local hospitality landscape.
The grade II-listed Tudor building, which dates from 1572 and was originally home to the Cornwallis family, was reopened in 2014 following an extensive renovation and modernisation programme under the patronage of new owner Fraser Duffin.
He says: “My vision was to fuse the best of East Anglia produce and hospitality with a contemporary lively London feel, offering a space for locals or guests traveling a bit further afield to enjoy fabulous food, drink and company in 17 acres of creatively landscaped Suffolk grounds.”
The house, which boasts a rustic, oak-beamed Tudor pub, Victorian dining rooms and 10 beautifully appointed boutique bedrooms, quickly became a hotspot in the area.
After the success of the initial opening, the Oaksmere underwent a second phase of expansion in 2017, when four more bedrooms were added in the Coach House along with a stunning new purpose-built dining space, the Orangery, which overlooks the beautiful terraces and sprawling lawns. The original restaurant spaces were converted to three private dining rooms.
In February 2023, head chef Adam Crimmin and his partner, general manager Ana Batista, arrived from Seckford Hall Hotel & Spa in Woodbridge to oversee the business. It has since flourished and in 2024 launched the Pavilion, a new dedicated event space situated on the lawns and housing up to 300 guests.
The addition of the Pavilion has necessitated a substantial increase to the hospitality team, and the Oaksmere is seeking team members across the business to join the Oaksmere revolution. Roles include a for live-in couple in deputy management positions, exciting opportunities across the business and an experienced mixologist to reopen our Conservatory cocktail bar and terrace.
