In what will be an unmissable afternoon for anyone interested in wine service, the top sommeliers in the UK are to compete in front of a live audience to determine the Moët UK Sommelier of the Year.
On Monday 17 July the three finalists will face a series of challenges, including customer-facing role-play scenarios, blind tastings and the spectacular magnum of Champagne pour (pictured, right).
The competition's past winners are a who's who of wine excellence, with the UK's best-known and most lauded wine experts among the roll call including Gerard Basset, Ronan Sayburn, Gearoid Devaney and Xavier Rousset.
Gerard Basset, OBE, MW, MS, and 2010 World Champion Sommelier is the competition's head judge.
He said: "This competition tests all areas of sommellerie and the vast knowledge they must possess. Its winners go on to become role models for young people in the food and beverage industry."
