Jesus Adorno considers ‘interesting offers’ after leaving Arlington

Jesus Adorno has said he has received some “interesting offers” after leaving Jeremy King’s Arlington restaurant in London, less than a month after it opened to the public.

The maître d' made the shock announcement on 18 March that he had stepped away from the highly anticipated project.

He wrote on Instagram last week: "With great sorrow I handed my notice this morning to @jeremyrbking @arlingtonrestaurant, it wasn't a good fit for me and I decided it wasn't right, #familytime."

Adorno was part of the team at the original Le Caprice restaurant when it was opened by King and his long-term business partner Chris Corbin in 1981. He left the restaurant in 2020 after 38 years.

King took on the lease of the site in 2023 and relaunched it as Arlington last month, with Adorno returning to the fold.

The restaurant opened for public bookings on 11 March, with Adorno announcing his departure just a week later.

In an update on 25 March, Adorno posted on Instagram: “Has been a week since I left @arlingtonrestaurant and thank you to everyone for the message of love and support you are given me. I have had some interesting offers that I am considering but not rushing this time.

“I am having a fabulous time with my #family and wish everyone a super #Easter holidays, with love.”

Arlington is the first of three London restaurants King will open this year, which include a relaunch of the Simpson's in the Strand site and New York-inspired ‘grand café' the Park in Bayswater.

King declined to comment.
