Former Bovingdons MD launches event catering company

The former managing director of Bovingdons Catering has launched west London-based events and catering company, the Ripe Avocado.

Jay Burgesson-Carter announced his departure from the 30-year-old caterer in February, two and a half years after joining.

He has since launched his own luxury catering company, which combines his African heritage with London’s cosmopolitan flavours.

The Ripe Avocado will work closely with small, family-run suppliers to cater for client events.

Burgesson-Carter has more than 15 years’ experience in the industry, having previously worked as managing director of premium event caterer Food Show.

He said: “After 15 years working in the most exciting industry and having the privilege of leading some exceptional catering companies, I have decided to take the biggest leap of faith I’ll ever take.

“I feel like it’s the perfect time to shake things up and bring a new diverse and inclusive caterer to London and the Home Counties. From plan to plate we will be delivering exceptional service, exquisite events and conversation-starting food.”
