Michelin-starred chef-restaurateur Jason Atherton will be relocating his Japanese-style restaurant, Sosharu, from its current location on 64 Turnmill Street in Clerkenwell, London.
Sosharu is the seventh London restaurant from Athertonâs Social Company, which he runs with his wife Irha. The site, which is a collaboration between Atherton and executive head chef Alex Craciun, opened in March 2016, has three AA rosettes and won AA Restaurant of the Year (London) 2016-17.
Atherton has eight other sites in London, including Pollen Street Social, Little Social and the recently opened Italian restaurant Hai Cenato at Nova in Victoria. Atherton has 17 restaurants worldwide in total and was awarded the 2017 British Travel & Hospitality Hall of Fame Business Achievement Award earlier this year.
Atherton said: âSosharu is a fantastic concept that works, that people love, and that has received great reviews - Iâm proud to have created it with head chef, Alex Craciun. But there is not enough lunch trade in the area â" being busy on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday is not enough to keep a site going with high rents in Central London. Weâre looking at a site in Mayfair and three or four sites in Soho where there is more of a lunch trade.â
