The 15th-century Lygon Arms in Broadway, Worcestershire, has announced the appointment of Jason Adams as general manager.
Adams will take over the running of the 86-bedroom hotel, which is part of the Iconic Luxury Hotels portfolio, on 3 April from Graeme Nesbitt who joined the property in 2016 from the Welcombe hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon. The Lygon Arms has recently completed a multi-million pound refurbishment following its acquisition two years ago by property group L+R, owned by brothers Ian and Richard Livingstone.
Adams will move to Broadway from Foxhills Club and Resort in Ottershaw, Surrey, where he has been general manager for four and a half years. He has previously held general manager roles at the Arden hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon, the Atlantic hotel in Jersey and Seaham Hall in County Durham.
Also joining the Lygon Arms will be Edward Fitzpatrick, who will be moving from Iconic Luxury Hotels' sister property Chewton Glen, where he is currently operations manager. He will move into the role of deputy general manager at the Lygon Arms.
An Acorn Award winner in 2016, Fitzpatrick took part in the Ten-out-of-Ten management trainee scheme, during which time he undertook work placements at the Vineyard, the Fat Duck and Gidleigh Park, as well as Chewton Glen.
Andrew Stembridge, executive director of Iconic Luxury Hotels, said it is an exciting time for the Lygon Arms following the completion of its refurbishment and expansion.
"The no-expense-spared transformation of this 15th-century coaching inn honours the building's charm and heritage, and debuts an enriched guest experience complete with 86 newly designed rooms and suites, a refreshed spa, and two new culinary experiences: Lygon Bar & Grill and Lygon Wine Bar.
"I am certain that the experience and wealth of knowledge that Jason and Ed will bring to their respective roles will restore the Lygon Arms to its position as one of the finest historic coaching inns in the UK."
Adams added: "I am thrilled to be taking over the Lygon Arms from such an inspired general manager as Graeme Nesbitt, who has done a tremendous job guiding the property through its renovation phase, it is such a remarkable property with great potential and now with the restoration completed, we can all look forward to the exciting opportunities this wonderful property presents".
Nesbitt is going to join Hand Picked Hotels.
