Jamie's Italian confirms it is undergoing CVA

Jamie's Italian UK has confirmed it is undergoing a Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) restructuring plan.

It follows news of the closures of Jamie's Italian sites in Bath, Bristol, Bluewater, Kent; Chelmsford, Essex; Harrogate, Kingston-upon-Thames, Milton Keynes, Reading, St Albans, Hertfordshire; Greenwich and Threadneedle Street, both in London.

The group said it had appointed Alix Partners to oversee the arrangement, which will not affect international sites.

Jamie's said it will "look to redeploy as many staff as possible within the wider restaurant group" and all staff will be paid fully.

Jon Knight, CEO of the Jamie Oliver Restaurant Group, said in a statement yesterday: "This was a not an easy decision but it's a crucial step to ensure our strong and much-loved brand can continue to serve our loyal customers."
