He will appear in the series alongside José Andrés, Thomas Keller and Alice Waters
Jamie Oliver is set to appear in a new series of Netflix’s Chef’s Table to mark 10 years of the franchise.
Chef’s Table: Legends will launch on 28 April with four episodes profiling some of the most prominent culinary figures in the world.
Oliver will appear in the series alongside Spanish chef José Andrés and American chefs Thomas Keller and Alice Waters.
“Jamie Oliver. Best-selling author. Charming TV chef. He’s changed the way people think about food in this country,” says a voiceover in a trailer for the new series.
Oliver, who is shown in the trailer filming cooking videos and preparing focaccia, is heard saying: “I have a job to guide as many people toward the joy of food and cooking, and I’m gonna give it my best shot.”
Chef’s Table first aired in 2015 and takes viewers inside the lives and kitchens of chefs worldwide.
It was created by David Gelb following the success of his 2011 documentary Jiro Dreams of Sushi, which follows chef Jiro Ono, the owner of then three-Michelin-starred Sukiyabashi Jiro in Tokyo, as his sons look to succeed him at the restaurant.
Previous special seasons have profiled chefs working with noodles, pizza, barbecue and pastry.
Speaking to Netflix’s official platform Tudum, the Chef’s Table production team said of the new series: “They are icons that should need no introduction. And yet, we found ourselves alternately surprised and enthralled by the vulnerability, the intimacy, and the previously untold stories that they shared with us.”
Asma Khan, owner of Darjeeling Express in London, was the first UK chef to appear on Chef’s Table in 2019.
Guirong Wei, the Shaanxi-born chef behind London’s Master Wei and Xi’an Impressions restaurants, appeared on the show in 2024.
