Jamavar's Samyutka Nair and Rohit Ghai forced to change new restaurant name

Samyutka Nair and Rohit Ghai, the restaurateurs behind Michelin-starred Jamavar in London, have changed the name of their latest venture to avoid confusion with another restaurant.

Nair and Ghai had announced that they would be opening Dabbawala on the site of what used to be Hibiscus in London in November.

However, having been alerted to the existence of the similarly named Dabbawal in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, the new venue at 29 Maddox Street will now be named Bombay Bustle.

Bombay Bustle is inspired by dabbawalas, men who used Mumbai's local railway to deliver home-cooked meals across the city in tins, each marked with an individual code.

Restaurant Property sold the site off a premium of £1m and rent of £175,000 per annum.

Bombay Bustle will re-create some of Mumbai's most popular dishes, alongside family recipes passed down to Ghai by his mother.

Dishes at the venue, thought to be around 120 covers, will include: misal pav topped with potato salli; kolhapuri spiced spit roasted chicken; and seabass and scallop tawa pulao. A full Dabba box (containing curry, bread, rice, and sundries) will be around £20 per person.
