Jack Hazell has been appointed to the newly created role of head chef at the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel in London’s King’s Cross.
He will work alongside Julien Maisonneuve, executive chef of the hotel, and oversee the Booking Office 1869, the Hansom, and MI + ME bars and restaurants.
Hazell has 10 years’ experience in the kitchen, having started out at his local golf club in Frinton, Essex. From there, he went onto become a demi chef de partie at Marcus Wareing's Tredwells in London’s Covent Garden, where he later became head chef.
He has also spent time at Claude Bosi at Bibendum in London’s South Kensington and returned to the Marcus Wareing group to head the Gilbert Scott at the St. Pancras Renaissance, which was replaced by Patrick Powell's Midland Grand Dining Room this year after the lease came to an end.
Most recently, Hazell was senior sous chef at Marcus at the Berkeley in London’s Knightsbridge.
