The Ivy Victoria to open next month

The Ivy is set to open in London’s Victoria next month following its transformation from a Jamie’s Italian.

The space is one of three sites previously owned by Jamie Oliver’s restaurant group that were bought by Richard Caring’s Caprice Holdings this summer after the collapse of the celebrity chef’s business.

Jamie’s Italian in Cardiff will reopen as an Ivy Brasserie, while Barbecoa in St Paul’s will reopen as the second Ivy Asia after Manchester. All three new restaurants are set to launch in November.

Located in London Victoria’s business quarter, the Ivy Victoria will accommodate 292 diners across its two-storey space from breakfast to dinner, seven days a week. It will feature an upstairs bar serving cocktails, a balcony space, outdoor terrace and private dining room.

Head chef Katie Burke’s menu will feature modern British classics alongside international-inspired dishes.

Samples include white onion soup with onion Lyonnaise, truffle mascarpone and toasted brioche; lemon sole on the bone with beurre noisette, lemon, caper and parsley; and malted banana ice-cream with chocolate brownie, caramelised banana, candied pecans and cocoa nib tuile.

Martin Brudnizki Design Studio consulted on the restaurant’s interior, which will feature artwork inspired by the railway, nearby Buckingham Palace and theatres, and Victorian London, alongside bold, colourful fabrics and leather banquettes.

Baton Berisha, managing director at the Ivy Collection, said: “We’re very excited to be bringing the Ivy Collection to the heart of Victoria for all who live and work in the area, as well as those visiting from further afield. Victoria has fantastic transport links and we hope to provide an exciting yet relaxed environment for local professionals, theatre-goers, shoppers and families and friends to enjoy.”
